Turin, November 19, 2019, after attending the boat shows in Venice and Cannes this year, FPT Industrial came to Amsterdam to participate in the Dutch International Boat and Yacht Equipment Exhibition (Mets) (November 19-21, booth 01.871), showing two new engines C16 600 and N67 450N, adding more advantages to its marine product line.
C16 600
C16 600 has brought the highest performance and low operating cost to heavy commercial ships, and can be applied to freighters, ferries, tugboats, trawlers and work ships. Although its displacement is close to 16 liters, this model maintains the compactness and portability of the 13-liter engine.
Its maximum power of 600 hp and torque of 2,680 Nm can improve cruising speed and maximum speed under various working conditions, and generate greater torque at low speed, which is very suitable for operation and control.
Brand-new and improved components and systems have higher strength, longer service life and resistance to harsh conditions, thus ensuring that this engine is in the leading position among similar products in terms of durability and reliability. Compared with competitors of similar products, the engine is also in the leading position in maintenance cycle and fuel consumption, thus reducing the operation and maintenance costs. The time between overhauls (TBO) is more than 30% longer than that of competitors, and it is easy to maintain.
The design and technology of C16 600 are aimed at minimizing noise and vibration, and the engine has little impact on the environment, which complies with major international emission regulations.
N67 450 N and N67 170
The N67 450 N has a wide range of applications, and is specially designed for cruise ships and light commercial ships. These applications can be converted into cruisers and yachts below 12m to perform tasks such as passenger transport, military and state institutions, pilotage, rescue and recreational fishing. This engine represents the evolution of the NEF series of FPT marine products, which can be applied to a wider range of ships and suitable for various tasks and operating conditions.
The maximum power of N67 450 N is 450 hp at 3,000 rpm, and the torque reaches 1,305 Nm at 1,800 rpm, which provides the best solution for various applications: high speed and optimal transient sliding for cruise ships, and the best low-end torque and low operating cost for light commercial ships.
The enhanced cooling and start-up system can provide better start-up, more durability and lower environmental impact in cold areas. Among many advantages, the engine meets the latest and strictest international emission regulations, and compared with the previous version, the engine has expanded its commercial scope in North America. For the European market, the engine upgraded by the same technology will be commercialized with a specific version of N67 170, and its rated power is 170 hp/2,300 rpm, which meets the more stringent requirements of the inland water carrier (IWV) Stage V.
FPT Industrial Red Horizon appeared at METS.
During the Netherlands International Boat and Yacht Equipment Exhibition, FPT Industrial made its debut at Cannes Yacht Festival in 2019, and the highly successful advanced integrated ship control system Red Horizon will be exhibited at Naviop’s booth (02.518). Combining the latest technologies from different partners, Red Horizon ensures comprehensive navigation control and safety, the best driving comfort, and makes the ship easy to operate and berth. The architecture of the integrated system was designed by CNH Industrial Design Center.
