>Disney’s new food protocols

New regulations on food carrying in Shanghai Disney

Shanghai Disney Resort said on Wednesday it has officially implemented its new food policy to provide visitors with a more pleasant experience.

Shanghai Disney Resort said on the 11th that in order to provide visitors with a better garden experience, the new food carrying regulations have been formally implemented.

The resort, which opened in June 2016, was recently embroiled in a public debate over its no-outside-food policy.

Shanghai Disneyland opened its garden in June, 2016. In recent days, its "no bringing your own food into the garden" regulation has caused public controversy.

Effective immediately, visitors can now bring outside food and beverages into Shanghai Disneyland for consumption as long as these items do not require heating, reheating, processing, refrigeration or temperature control and do not have pungent odors.

From now on, visitors can bring food and drinks for their own consumption into Shanghai Disneyland, but it is forbidden to bring food that needs heating, reheating, processing, refrigeration or heat preservation and food with pungent smell into the park.

The resort listed food items that are prohibited, which include but not limited to: instant noodles that require hot water, food kept in containers with reheating capabilities and durian.

The foods explicitly prohibited by Shanghai Disneyland include but are not limited to: instant noodles that need to be heated with water, foods with self-heating function, durian, etc.

Alcoholic beverages, cans and glassware will still be prohibited, with the exception of small baby food jars.

Alcoholic beverages, cans and glass containers are still prohibited from being brought into the park (except canned food for small babies).
