Or both?

I am converting a 13x13x20" top-open fish tank into a front-open vivarium for frogs, likely PDFs but ultimately I’m open to different frogs if the built would better suit a different species. The current open top will be replaced with m esh screen and glass over that. A strip of mesh screen will be placed above or below the doors for air flow. I have experience with glass cutting and f abrication so I feel confident I can do the conversion correctly. I also have access to a 3d printer for custom parts (thank you public library system! ).

All this to say, where should I put the ventilation strip? I imagine near the bottom would help vent any gases produced by decomposition (although I suppose the frogs deal with that in the wild), but it could also drop the temperature of the floor too much. Near the top might decrease the humidity. Additionally, where is a fan for air circulation beat placed?

Are these concerns realistic or valid in the first place? Is there any research or recommendations on where the ventilation is best for the frogs?

Thank you very much for your advice! I am so excited to give my frogs the best possible environment outside of their own native habitat.
