May 19th, China — The logistics base of Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) celebrated its first birthday. During this year, the container throughput of the logistics base exceeded 100,000 TEUs and the cargo throughput was nearly 1 million tons.

On May 19th last year, the first phase of the Sino-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Base Project started, marking the beginning of the implementation of the Silk Road Economic Belt jointly built by China and Kazakhstan. On this base, China and Kazakhstan jointly established Lianyungang Sino-Kazakhstan International Logistics Company, which was completed, put into operation and made profits that year.

Promote the global circulation of KTS containers

On February 25th this year, the freight train from Lianyungang to Almaty was opened in China-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Base, and the train is running well at present. By the end of April, 47 trips to the west were completed, with a transportation volume of 4,920 TEUs, and 48 trips to the east were completed, with a transportation volume of 4,812 TEUs.

Lianyungang Sino-Kazakhstan International Logistics Company, on the basis of stabilizing the domestic KTS (Kazakhstan State-owned Railway Corporation) container market, gradually expanded its market overseas, and * * sent KTS containers with general agency rights and management rights to South Korea, thus realizing the great cycle of international sea-rail combined transport of KTS containers.

At the beginning of this year, Lianyungang Sino-Kazakhstan International Logistics Company transported KTS containers to the South China market for use. On March 20th, the first batch of KTS containers in the South China market were transferred back to Lianyungang by domestic ships. On April 27th, Lianyungang Sino-Kazakhstan International Logistics Company, together with multinational logistics companies and multimodal transport companies, transported the loaded KTS containers to South Korea, shipped them back to Lianyungang and sent them to Central Asia after being distributed in South Korea, and realized "going back again". This model effectively reduces the high cost of customers buying or dumping boxes abroad.

Liu Bin, head of Lianyungang Sino-Kazakhstan International Logistics Company, said that in May, the number of TEUs in the South China market has exceeded 100, and KTS containers from South Korea will also arrive one after another. In this way, there is no need to consider the return trip of containers, which saves a lot of costs for customers, greatly increases the utilization rate of containers in Kazakhstan railway, creates profit space, and achieves win-win results in one fell swoop. "In the next step, we plan to transport KTS containers to node ports such as Japan and Southeast Asia, as well as the Pacific Rim to the United States to promote the formation of a global cycle." Liu Bin said.

Construction of SCO (Lianyungang) International Logistics Park

The logistics cooperation between China and Kazakhstan has laid a good foundation for the cooperation between Lianyungang and Central Asian countries. Lianyungang has planned to build the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (Lianyungang) International Logistics Park with high standards, contributing to the rapid establishment of the "the belt and road initiative" interconnection platform and demonstrating its great achievements and functions in the national strategy.

At the end of March this year, Lianyungang signed a letter of intent with Kazakhstan State-owned Railway Corporation to jointly build the SCO (Lianyungang) International Logistics Park. The third phase of the future Sino-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) logistics base will be set up in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (Lianyungang) International Logistics Park, including railway loading and unloading stations, bonded logistics warehouses and bulk cargo trading centers, so as to strengthen the co-construction and sharing cooperation in railway transportation, logistics warehousing, international trade and export processing, and take this as a model to promote more Shanghai countries to carry out logistics and trade cooperation in Lianyungang.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (Lianyungang) International Logistics Park has been expanded on the basis of the original planned 22.35 square kilometers Golden Harbor International Logistics Park. At present, a number of public infrastructure such as the first phase of inland port, bonded logistics center and roads in the region have been completed, and projects such as highway center freight station, business center of modern service industry cluster area and special railway line have been promoted in an orderly manner.

"We need more superlative elements." Zhu Xiangyang, president of Lianyungang Port Group, said that Lianyungang Port is accelerating the layout of the logistics system with Kazakhstan at the east and west ends of the land bridge, and creating the interconnection of infrastructure, trade, capital, policies and people’s hearts. "In the process of attracting investment in the park, ‘ Go out ’ With ‘ Please come in ’ Two-way development will introduce international third-party and fourth-party logistics enterprises to participate in project investment and operation, and actively attract large logistics companies to jointly build parks.
