Hyundai Motor Company introduced its first electric minibus. According to reports, County Electric was developed as an environmentally friendly substitute for diesel minibuses. Its 128 kWh lithium-ion battery can drive it for 250 kilometers, and it can be fully charged in more than an hour with a 150 kW charger.

County Electric can carry 15 to 33 passengers, and the backrest of these seats is higher than that of other vehicles. The electric drive system provides more space for the car, and the sensor ensures that the middle door will not close when passengers get on and off. One of the door sensors is connected to the accelerator pedal, which will stop the bus from leaving if it detects the passenger moving when the vehicle is parked.

This minibus is equipped with an electronically controlled air-hydraulic disc brake system, which is designed to better cope with the extra vehicle weight brought by the battery pack. Other safety features include a double swing emergency exit at the rear, an anti-rollover system, wheel slip prevention, a new seat belt setting designed to reduce abdominal pressure during emergency braking, and reminding pedestrians of the digital engine sound of the minibus.

Hyundai Motor said that with the 150 kW Combo 1 DC charging system, the 128 kWh battery can be fully charged in 72 minutes, and the 220V household socket takes 17 hours. Compared with diesel buses, drivers can achieve faster acceleration in the range of 50 to 80 km/h. The vehicle has a heated seat, a 7-inch main screen, two 4.2-inch auxiliary screens, and a intelligent key remote start.

Hyundai Motor said that County Electric is a zero-emission bus, which provides great safety and convenience for drivers and passengers. At present, it is not clear whether County Electric will be listed outside the Korean market.
