According to Guinean media reports, recently, Dutch Metalcorp Mining Company plans to start several bauxite infrastructure projects in Guinea.

  

  The name of the Guinean legal person enterprise registered in Guinea by Metalcorp Mining Company of the Netherlands is SociétédeBauxitedeGuinée, SBG.

  Project background

  In December 2008, SBG obtained four exploration licenses from the Ministry of Mines of Guinea, and the four mining plots were located in three provinces of Guinea, namely KINDIA, PITA and DALABA. The total area of the four mining areas is about 2000 square kilometers.

  In November 2012, the exploration right certificate was extended and renewed for the first time after its expiration. According to the provisions of Guinea’s Mineral Law, half of the mining area in Guinea was returned.

  In March 2015, the exploration right certificate was renewed for the second time, and half of the mining area was returned again.

  The exploration right certificate after the second extension is valid until March 2017. At present, the mining area controlled by SBG Company is 502 square kilometers.

  In this 502-square-kilometer mining area, after eight years of exploration, the proven bauxite reserves with commercial mining value are 300 million tons.

  Investment and mining plan of Metalcorp mining company in the Netherlands

  Invest 2 billion US dollars; Construction in two phases.

  Phase I: Construction started in the second quarter of 2017 and completed in 2019, forming an annual production capacity of 3 million tons of bauxite.

  Phase II: An alumina factory with an annual output of 1.6 million tons will be built in 2020;

  The first and second phases of infrastructure construction started at the same time and were completed step by step.

  The contents of infrastructure construction are as follows:

  -an alumina plant with an annual output of 1.6 million tons;

  -a coal-fired power plant and a steam plant;

  -mining facilities

  -40km road, mining area →OUNDIA

  -70km road, OUNDIA→DEBELE

  -110km road, DEBELE→CONAKRY

  -Building a special bauxite wharf in Conakry Autonomous Port.
