According to Ross Young, a display analyst, Apple’s unreleased iPhone 12 will not be equipped with a dynamically refreshed screen of 120Hz. Young has previously said that Apple will not adopt high brush technology unless LTPO technology can be mass-produced.

At present, the high refresh rate screen has been adopted by many Android flagships, which means that the LCD or OLED screen has a refresh rate of 90Hz or higher, so as to have a better experience in games or videos.

Jon Prosser, who broke the news frequently recently, once said that the "iPhone 12" in 2020 will adopt a high refresh rate screen. DigiTimes, a media concerned about the industrial chain, also said that Apple is planning to launch an iPhone with a 120Hz display.

Ross Young, who voiced today, said that all iPhone models in 2020 will not use high refresh rate screens. He is showing that acquaintances in the industrial chain can’t confirm that the dynamic high refresh rate screen will be loaded on the iPhone 12 series.

He said that these new display panels will appear with the iPhone 13 series in 2021. Young had previously claimed that this generation of iPhone 12 lacked the LTPO (Low Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) panel, and he believed that this technology was essential for the high refresh rate screen.

LTPO technology has been commercialized with higher electron mobility and stability. It is considered as a new technology that can further reduce the power consumption of smart phones. Previously, Apple’s Apple Watch Series5 realized the function of always-on display because of it.

It seems logical for Apple to transplant it to the iPhone product line, but according to Ross Young, the industrial chain seems to be not fully ready.
