After the release of Nintendo Switch on Friday, everyone was a little puzzled. First of all, the price (US$ 299, about RMB 2062) was higher than expected, there were not many surprises in VR, and there were no other new products planned for 2017 … but at least one thing deserves our attention.

Whether the Switch will support VR is unknown, and it seems impossible from the current 720p resolution. However, Nintendo said that they are playing the abacus of VR and applied for a head-mounted display patent similar to Gear VR a few weeks ago. In any case, the Switch may support some mobile VR experiences in the future. At that time, the Joy-Con handle can be used as the VR handle, because Joy-Con has enough VR handle potential. One of its selling points is that it can be taken down and held horizontally, which is very close to the existing VR handle.

Not to mention the Joy-Con handle also supports Wii-like motion capture. There is an infrared camera on the Joy-Con in the right hand, which can sense the shape, movement and distance of the object in front, and can also recognize simple gestures such as scissors and stone cloth. It is too early to say whether it belongs to inside-out tracking.

Joy-Con even has tactile feedback technology, and Nintendo named it "HD Rumble" (… advanced tremor? ), they said that users can even feel the movement of ice in the glass through their hands. Vive wands and Touch handles can both simulate the realistic touch of the bow. I wonder if Joy-Con will make more fun black technology.

These are just brain supplements. After all, Nintendo’s entry into VR is still eight words, but as a melon eater, I am happy to see such a company get involved.
