According to foreign media reports, Tesla began to push a new software update, which will enable vehicles to get more power, brand-new Automatic Navigation, planned charging and other functions. After the release of Tesla’s financial report in the third quarter of 2019, Tesla management announced in a conference call with analysts that they plan to release a new software update, which will improve the output power, cruising range and charging speed of the car.

CEO elon musk said that this update will be gradually pushed to customers in the next few weeks.

Now, some users are beginning to report that they have obtained new software updates and "the power has increased".

Tesla wrote in the press release: "The power of your car has increased by about 5%, which has improved acceleration and performance."

This is the result obtained by Tesla through software optimization of motor control.

In addition, Tesla also talked about a new function called Scheduled Departure in the press release. Scheduled Departure, as its name implies, allows drivers to set the departure time to facilitate the car to complete charging before the peak electricity price starts, thus reducing energy costs and ensuring continuous regenerative braking and performance.

If you want to start this function at the current location, users need to visit "Charge > Plan"/then select DEPART AT and set the departure time, and choose whether you want the Scheduled Departure to be applicable to ALL WEEK or only WEEKDAYS.

The car manufacturer pointed out that this new function will replace Smart Preconditioning, but if the battery pack is less than 20% charged, it will not pretreat the car.

In addition to these new features, Tesla also released a function called Automatic Navigation that was not announced before. When entering the car, this function will start a route to a possible destination. Automatic Navigation will navigate users to locations related to upcoming calendar events, leave home for work in the morning (Monday to Friday), and return home from work in the afternoon or evening (Monday to Friday).

If you want to use this function, users need to click Control > Navigation > Automatic Navigation. To set the work address and home address, click Navigation 10, press Home or Work, and then press Save.

Musk said that through some new functions, customers’ cars will know more about them and automatically perform tasks that they can predict. Once Tesla realizes the fully automatic driving function, this function should become particularly useful, because the car will not only know that the driver wants to drive home but also drive him home.
