Perhaps more than 2,000 yuan of Intel quad-core CPU will bring economic pressure to ordinary users more or less, but at present, Intel’s most affordable Core 2 quad-core Q8200 (the current price of boxes and bags is probably around 940 yuan) has attracted more and more attention. What is the performance of Q8200 and what level it is at present? We will show you in detail today.
The default frequency of Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 is 2.33GHz, FSB is 1333MHz, and the second-level cache is 4MB and 95W TDP. The only weakness compared with other Intel Core ? 2 quad-core processors is that the secondary cache is a little small.
Ok, cut the crap, now let’s take a look at the evaluation of Core 2 Quad-Core Q8200.

Photodex ProShow Gold 3.2
ProShow Gold allows users to integrate pictures, videos and music to create multimedia presentations.
In this test, we converted 29 high-resolution pictures into an mpeg2-2 format, DVD widescreen quality, 3 minutes and 9 seconds video file. The resolution of the original picture is 3872×2592, with a total capacity of 170MB. See how long it takes.
Test results: Photodex Proshow test results show that the CPU speed of Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 exceeds all AMD processors, even Phenom II 940 (its main frequency is 3.0GHz! )。
Sony Vegas 8.0c
Vegas 8.0c is also a video editing software.
Our test is to assemble several short video and sound files into an audio and video file.
Test results: the performance of Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 is only lower than that of Q9300, and it exceeds that of AMD Phenom 9950.

Microsoft Excel 2007
Microsoft Office Excel 2007 is familiar to everyone, making it our common data analysis software.
The first test is to calculate 28,000 data, using operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, comparison and sorting. And it is also analyzed (such as maximum, minimum, middle, average, etc.).
The second test is to use mathematical model to simulate and analyze stock data. .
Test results: The performance of Excel Core 2 Quad Q8200 is slightly better than that of AMD Phenom II 940.

Futuremark 3DMark06
3DMark06
3DMark06 of Futuremark is a familiar game performance testing software.
Test results: 3DMark 2006 CPU test results show that Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 has completely surpassed AMD 9950 quad-core processor. Although it only has 4M L2 cache.
Power consumption test
At present, the power consumption of CPU is an index that people are paying more and more attention to, especially in Internet cafes. If the power consumption of each machine is increased by 10W, it will cost dozens of electricity bills every year. Today we are testing the power consumption of the whole system. We run the machine in idle state for an hour to get the power consumption of the whole machine in idle state. POV-Ray 3.7 is used to run all cores to 100% load to get the power consumption of the whole machine under the same load.
Results: Even though Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 has four cores, the power consumption of 95W TDP is not higher than that of AMD Phenom 9350e with 65W TDP.
summary
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 (4 MB Cache, 2.33 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB) is currently the most affordable quad-core processor in Intel’s product line, and it is Intel’s first quad-core below 1000 yuan. The performance has completely surpassed its previous generation: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (8m Cache, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB).
Q8200 is obviously superior to AMD’s quad-core processor in video processing, office applications and image processing, especially in video processing, which even exceeds Phenom II 940. In terms of game performance, the performance of Q8200 is completely comparable to that of AMD’s highest-end processor.
In terms of power consumption, the performance of Q8200 with TPD 95W is not weaker than that of 9350e with TPD 65w. This shows that TPD is only marked for system designers to refer to the heat dissipation design of the system, and the actual power consumption of CPU depends on the actual measurement. It seems that Intel’s 45nm CPU is well-deserved in terms of high performance and low power consumption.
Therefore, Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 is indeed a good choice for quad-core processors below 1000 yuan in terms of comprehensive performance and price.
