A computer simulation has suggested that global temperatures could rise by 1.4-3.0C above levels for late last century by 2050, the BBC reported. Almost 10,000 climate simulations were run on volunteers’ home computers. The researchers aimed to explore a wider range of possible futures, which they say helps "get a handle" on the uncertainties of the climate system. The projections are somewhat higher than those from other models. The low end of their range is similar to that of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in its 2007 report, but the high end is somewhat above the range their analysis produced.(China.org.cn March 26, 2012)

According to the BBC, computer simulation shows that by 2050, the global temperature will be 1.4 to 3.0 degrees Celsius higher than that of the last century. Nearly ten thousand simulation programs were run on volunteers’ home computers. The researchers’ goal is to explore the possibility of wider temperature in the future, which they say will help to "understand" many uncertainties in the climate system. The temperature change predicted this time is higher than that predicted by other models. The bottom of the change range is similar to the conclusion of the 2007 report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, but the top is slightly higher than the analysis result of the Panel.
